At Genesis Medical Associates, Inc., our chiropractors strive to offer a customized solution to every patient’s individual treatment plan. Please contact us for a consultation if you are dealing with chronic aches and pains.
A chiropractor is a primary health care professional concerned with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and overall general health. Once a neglected source of treatment, chiropractic options have grown in popularity over the last decade due to their ability to address so many aches and pains.
At Genesis Medical Associates, Inc., we proudly offer chiropractic care to patients suffering from a variety of chronic aches and pains. We know that a chiropractor can be an incredible resource when dealing with joint and muscle pain. We understand how medical adjustments and massage therapy can make a difference in the joints, muscles, and well-being of a suffering individual. And we’ve seen firsthand how offering a variety of care options can help some patients address their pain without medication and without surgery. If you are struggling to overcome chronic pain, and you are ready to give chiropractic care a try, contact us today for a consultation!
Chiropractors specialize in addressing aches and pains caused by musculoskeletal issues. Specifically, they strive to diagnose and correct biomechanical disturbances (specifically subluxation - a structural or functional impairment of a vertebra) and nervous system blockages.
These impairments and/or blockages often create irritating symptoms such as inflammation, tension, pain, numbness, muscle spasms, and joint mobility restrictions. Impairments and/or blockages may have an impact on the body as a whole. For example, the nervous system controls the function of every cell, tissue, organ, and system in your body. If there is a misalignment (subluxation) in the spine, it could interfere with the function of the nervous system. Therefore, correction of the misalignment (subluxation) allows nerves and their signals to flow freely from the brain to the rest of the body.
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Specifically: when a vertebra becomes misaligned (subluxated) due to external or internal pressure, a chiropractor can restore the alignment by applying an opposite pressure in the appropriate manner.
Through manual adjustments/manipulations of a person’s spine and joints, chiropractors can influence the body’s nervous system and natural defense mechanisms in order to alleviate pain, relieve pressure on the nerves, improve general health, and even promote the body’s natural healing capabilities. Because of its effectiveness in treating back/neck problems, headaches, extremity dysfunction, and other injuries and traumas, chiropractic treatment is highly sought after.
Without addressing an underlying cause, pain caused by musculoskeletal problems will not typically decrease on its own. But chiropractic care can help address alignment problems and/or muscle injuries, rather than leaving patients to cope with their pain via medication. Chiropractic care may also help patients avoid unnecessary surgery, depending on the nature of their pain and/or injury.
Chiropractic services are available in-house at our practice for patients who are struggling with chronic pain affecting their muscles, joints, bones, and connective tissues (such as cartilage, ligaments, and tendons).
As chiropractors, our job is to evaluate patients’ health by use of inspection, palpation, and other diagnostic testing (including, but not limited to diagnostic imaging, laboratory diagnostics, etc.). These assessments and more can all be provided by Genesis Medical Associates as needed. As a result, any chiropractic care and support services you may utilize during treatment are available through Genesis’ Chiropractic practice - a state of the art, paperless office providing exceptional and convenient family patient care.
In addition to providing patients with a single point-of-contact for care, our in-house services can reduce the difficulties associated with taking common prescription medications, while also boosting our patients’ health in a more natural, holistic fashion. If this sounds like the care you are looking for at this time, please call 412.847.0066 today to set up an appointment.
