As an independent practice, Genesis Medical is proud to operate our offices in a way that puts our patients and no one else first. Our staff believe in putting an emphasis on health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education, to ensure that any family that comes to us is treated as a whole person - not as a single diagnosis. As we enter a season full of cold and flu bugs, this emphasis on good health is something we want to extend to the Pittsburgh community, particularly as some individuals look to make changes in who is caring for them or their family.

Our staff understand just how important is is to have a doctor who knows you and your health history. And as you likely know from experience, any time an individual or family needs to make changes in their care network, they need to do research and obtain information to make their decision. But this process can take time, and there’s always a chance that an appointment will reveal that the new care office or even specialist you picked isn’t quite the fit you were looking for.

We understand at Genesis Medical that the hunt for a new family doctor - or for specialized services - can be a stressful experience. To help alleviate some of this stress, and to help people use their time researching to the fullest, we periodically go into the community ourselves to meet with those who are looking for Dr. Right. We’re pleased to announce that soon, we will do so again!

In fact, one of Genesis Medical’s physicians will be participating in the Meet Dr. Right event in the Allegheny Health Network Health and Wellness Pavilion on Thursday November 3rd. This event is the perfect opportunity for individuals to meet, mingle, and make appointments with prospective primary care or specialist doctors that they feel might be a good fit with their family.

Genesis Medical is proud to report that Dr. Mark Woodburn of Grob, Scheri, Woodburn and Griffin Family Medicine will be at this event, ready to talk one-on-one with patients who are interested in a new physician. Dr. Woodburn will also be able to answer any questions our current patients have regarding how to fully utilize the Genesis Medical network to manage their healthcare. And in addition to meeting with Dr. Woodburn, all attendees will have an opportunity to talk with internal medicine physicians, family medicine doctors, pediatricians, OB/GYN and other specialists from  the surrounding area.

Current Genesis Medical patients, their friends, and members of the public alike are invited to attend this upcoming event if they are looking to make any adjustments to better fit their healthcare needs. Registration is not required to attend, so if time allows, you are encouraged to stop in and find a match with your next doctor, based on what’s important to you and your current health needs!

Pittsburgh doctors, including Genesis Medical staff, want to help you take control of your health.
