Mary Whitman has been a Physician Assistant for just over 25 years and has worked in primary care in the inpatient, outpatient and long-term care facilities. She is new to Genesis Medical associates and will be primarily outpatient care offering access to patients for care in a timely manner.
She manages patients of all ages except adolescents. Her specialties are chronic care conditions like: diabetes, heart conditions, obesity, musculoskeletal and neurological issues, as well as all acute problems. She enjoys managing women's health: pap smears, menopause as well as psychiatric problems common in the primary care setting.
Her expertise has allowed her to educate students, and she spends time on educating the patients as well, assisting them in truly understanding what is going on with their problems and overall wellbeing. We are pleased to have Mary join our team here at Northern Area Family Medicine.
